Medication Management for Seniors
Medications are often a core component of a senior’s long-term health and well-being. Our medication services can help seniors manage all of their prescriptions, take medications correctly and on-time, and avoid any mistakes that could hurt their health.
What is Medication Management?
Medication management for the elderly ensures the right medication is taken at the right time, every time. A well-trained, state-licensed caregiver can help a senior receive and refill prescriptions, take medications at the correct time following all doctor instructions, and help with more complicated treatments needed on a regular basis like subcutaneous (Sub Q) injections or feeding tubes.
What Does Medication Management Include?
Our Certified Medication Aides/Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) serve seniors by:
- Administering medications according to doctor’s orders
- Ensuring medications are taken safely, correctly, and regularly
- Assisting with oral administration, topicals, drops, PRN Tube Feeding, and Sub Q
- Monitoring medication reminders and refills
*Note: Not all states can provide medication services. In such states, we can provide medication reminders as an alternative.
Who Provides Medication Management Services?
In states that allow medication management services, caregivers administering medications must be state-licensed as Certified Medication Aides (CMAs) and meet a specific set of criteria.
