We are proud to introduce you to JoAnn D., our Senior Care Employee of the Month. Our Caregivers come from diverse backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common, they are CARE (Compassionate, Accountable, Respectful and Ethical). JoAnn exemplifies A Place at Home's core values in so many ways. She is willing to pick up last minute shifts to ensure our clients are taken care of; maintains excellent communication with the office; and best of all, provides excellent, compassionate care to her clients.
Now, you can get to know JoAnn a little bit better.
APH: What is your background?
JD: I worked in telecommunications with Lucent Technologies and retired after 30 years.
APH: How did you get into Caregiving after a 30-year career?
JD: After retiring, I decided to take CNA classes and also got my Medication Aide certification. I worked for the Good Samaritan Society and also passed meds in Superior, Nebraska. I returned to Omaha and have worked in home care ever since. I couldn't believe how much I love working with the elderly. It is truly a passion!
APH: What do you like to do when you are not working?
JD: I love to quilt. Sewing is another passion of mine.
APH: Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world?
JD: I’ve traveled to Germany twice, and that truly was an awesome experience. I would love to see so much more of Europe!
Thank you, JoAnn for everything you do for A Place at Home. We appreciate having people like you as the face of our company.
