A Place At Home started out of our founders’ own needs for support while navigating the uncertainty and anxiety of caring for aging loved ones. That’s why we’re so committed to providing excellent, consistent, and comprehensive at-home care to families throughout the Denver Metro South area, including Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Lone Tree, and the surrounding communities.

Meet Our Owner

C.W. Hurst

Owner

C.W. was born and raised in Texas and is a Colorado State University Alumni. After graduating from college, he held several leadership roles. His passion has always been helping others. After caring for his ill father, who had Parkinson’s disease, he experienced first-hand the importance of excellent care being provided for those in need. He is passionate about providing care for families and strives to continue making a positive impact in the community. C.W. has a wife (Erika), a daughter (Kaiya), and two dogs (Mya & Peanut). He enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and golf.

Meet the Team

Madeleine Montiel

Director of Operations

Madeleine has been with A Place At Home since 2019 and has worked her way up from Caregiver to Director of Operations. With a background as a CNA for over 10 years, she has worked in a variety of healthcare settings with experience in skilled nursing, home health, and hospice. She began her healthcare journey as a family caregiver, so she understands the toll that illness and decline can take on families.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine from CU Boulder, she saw a lack of quality in home care, which is where she diverted her attention to, in 2019. Madeleine has a true passion and understanding for creating care plans for our clients and works really well with families.

Abigail Romero

Recruitment and Retention Specialist

Hello! I’m Abigail, and I’ve always loved being surrounded by people. I believe in kindness, respect, and the power of human connection. Everyone deserves to be treated with love and dignity, and while it may seem idealistic, I truly believe we should strive for a world where peace and compassion guide our interactions.

Thanks to A Place At Home, I developed a deep appreciation for the recruitment process. It allows me to connect with people, sense their energy, and find those who also believe that every individual deserves to be treated with warmth and respect.

Fun fact: I’m obsessed with chicken wings, hitting the gym, and spending time with my pup, Akira!

Ariel Montoya

Caregiver Coordinator

My name is Ariel and I was born and raised in Denver, CO. I am a very outgoing and goofy person, at times. Growing up, I always tried to have a positive impact on everyone’s lives. I found myself continually giving a helping hand to anyone, in need. Being able to work somewhere that I can help every day, has been very fulfilling. I’m very excited to continue working and growing with A Place At Home.
