About Our At Home Care Services

A Place At Home started out of our founders’ own needs for support while navigating the uncertainty and anxiety of caring for aging loved ones. That’s why we’re so committed to providing excellent, consistent, and comprehensive at-home care to families throughout the Schaumburg area, including Schaumburg, Wood Dale, and the surrounding communities.

Meet Our Owner

Neelima Gaikwad

Owner

Neelima has been a practicing healthcare professional for the past 20 years. Prior to opening A Place At Home – Schaumburg, Neelima earned her Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy (OT) from India, a Master’s in OT from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Illinois-Chicago. She started as a pediatric occupational therapist and later became a lead therapist for handling senior care.

As a leader of her healthcare team, she mentored colleagues, trained new therapists, and was a clinical instructor for aspiring therapy students along with conducting caregiver training and skilled in reducing caregiver burnout. Working in skilled nursing facilities made her realize the immense need there is in the community to understand the foundational bond between caregivers and clients. Neelima saw that caregivers are the hands, ears, and eyes of the seniors who suffer from complex medical, physical, and chronic conditions. Neelima knew she had the experience, knowledge, and compassion to handle this foundational bond with top-notch quality so decided to open A Place At Home – Schaumburg.
