A Place At Home started out of our founders’ own needs for support while navigating the uncertainty and anxiety of caring for aging loved ones. That’s why we’re so committed to providing excellent, consistent, and comprehensive at-home care to families throughout the Chelmsford area, including Lowell, Billerica, and the surrounding communities.

Meet Our Owners

Gary Lafreniere

Owner

Prior to opening A Place At Home Gary was a Co-Founder and the COO of a software company for 20 years. In addition to being COO, Gary managed a team regularly recognized with award-winning customer service. His passion for home care comes from his personal experience in caring for his mother Ruth before she passed in April 2020. Gary saw the challenges first hand and witnessed the amazing compassion from the caregivers in his community. When his company was acquired in 2020 the decision was an easy one for him and his family to open up the first A Place At Home location in Massachusetts. Gary and his team also received an award from Franchise Business Review, showcasing their excellence and commitment in the industry.

Arianna Lafreniere

Owner

Arianna brings 25 years of accounting experience to the team with 10 of those years in the Home Care industry. In addition to her financial background Arianna wants to honor her late mother-in-law Ruth by working side by side with her husband Gary at A Place At Home to bring the “We Are Care” philosophy to the Merrimack Valley community. Arianna will oversee all financial operations of the company and manage the client care coordination.

Meet the Team

Michelle Taranto

Community Liaison

Michelle has over 22 years of experience in marketing and client management but it’s her personal experience with elder care that brought her to A Place At Home. In 2020, she left her job to care for her mother Lorraine who had Alzheimer’s. She passed away a short two months later and that was when Michelle felt called to pursue a career helping seniors. She is passionate about helping other families navigate through similar transitions.

Marlie Francois

Field Supervisor

Prior to joining A Place At Home – Merrimack Valley, Marlie dedicated over 10 year to serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lahey Hospital. Prior to that role, she excelled in delivering exceptional care within Assisted Living Communities. Marlie’s perspective on her profession transcends the conventional notion of “work”; as a mother of two, she views caring for others as second nature. Marlie supervises and guides our caregivers in the field, offering direction and training as necessary. Beyond office duties, she personally visits our clients in their homes, ensuring their well-being with genuine care and attention.

Belinda Cronin

Client Care Coordinator

Belinda comes to A Place At Home with years of in-home care coordination experience in addition to her managerial experience in the hospitality industry. Our philosophy of ‘We Are CARE’ is what drew Belinda to this new opportunity as she has excelled at coordinating care for her many clients in both industries. A Place At Home is growing fast, Belinda has joined the team to help in the growth of the company and her career.
